An Autumn Dress for Bella: Vintage McCall 7977

In a heavy cotton tweed, this pattern will work well with a cardigan over it for cold weather.

It's in the big collar/big pocket tradition. So handy for carrying big small things around.

Hm, I see that I need to make or find a belt, soon! Other than that, it's great.

Lovely Anna. And it's a flattering cut and colour for Bella too.

Miss Bella you look very elegant in your grey dress.

So pretty. If I could sew better I would definitely make dresses like that - yours look so professional!

That is lovely. I love it with the shawl and boots.

I just bought some heavy crisp cotton with the idea of making some kind of sheath dress. It's technically a bottomweight, but I'm hoping for a dress with body!

Anna,
Did you adjust the neckline for Bella, or is the picture on the envelope misleading? I love the dress on Bella!

I cut the dress according to the pattern, only shortened the bodice and the skirt by Bella's standard modifications.

Bella looks very elegant. Her hair has really grown! She appears ready for a New York visit to see Giles.
